Kimbella Talks Love, Fashion & Beauty

KimbellaKimbella Vanderhee, the blonde haired, honey skinned beauty from Love & Hip Hop, was once just a local model based out of Miami. Kimbella has come a long way since the start of her career with her exotic beauty, gracing the pages of various spreads, most recently featured on the cover of Black Men’s Magazine.

Kimbella Responds to Erica Mena and Calls Her a “Crack Whore”

Kimbella has been in the game since 03′ but the world is only now starting to get to know the biracial beauty since her TV debut on the hit VH1 reality series, Love & Hip Hop. So far Kimbella may seem like the villain on the show as she has already brawled with two cast members, Chrissy and Erica Mena. Kimbella recently opened up to CherryOnTop.com to show her softer side and share her thoughts on marriage and cheating, she also gives us some of her beauty and fashion secrets.

Kimbella

What is your definition of beauty?

Beauty to me, that is an inner and outer thing. I feel like every woman, every man and every individual is beautiful in their own way. Beauty has many forms and shapes

When did you first discover makeup?

Wow, I didn’t start wearing makeup until I was about 21 or 22. I didn’t really discover it until I entered the modeling game. Before that, I never wore makeup.

Kimbella

From week to week on the show, your hair is always on point. How do you keep your hair so beautiful?

There is a regimen. (laughs) But I feel like every woman should be versatile and be able to give different and have different looks. I love to have my hair curly because that is my natural look, but I love the braid. I mean it would take a lot to discuss what I use with every hairstyle. (laughs) But it’s about having your own way of styling your hair. I mean we have stylist on set, but you always gotta know how to do your own hair in case you don’t have anyone else to do it.

Kimbella

What is the best lip-gloss you ever owned?

I love Stila Cosmetics lip-gloss. It’s shiny and real smooth for my lips, and you can get it at Sephora. But I use a lot of MAC products, so I have tons of lip-gloss from there as well.

Kimbella

What is you signature fragrance?

Pink Sugar, I use it everyday – it’s amazing! (laughs) They now have two versions, one is lighter and the other is a little heavier. But it smells beautiful on me and every fragrance smells different on each woman. But that is one thing that always smells good on me. (laughs) I love pink sugar.

Kimbella

What one beauty product will we always find in your purse?

I love all MAC products. (laughs) Yes, I am a MAC girl. You will find lipstick – I usually wear two shades, either nude or red. I also love all MAC blushes. There was a collection that came out with MAC that was my favorite. It was the Wonder Woman Collection. I wish I was able to still have some of the stuff off that line. I just loved all the lip colors. (laughs)

Kimbella

How would you describe your personal style? Who are some of your favorite designers?

My personal style is very Miami chic; I love bright vibrant colors and designers. Oh my God, I love Versace, Gucci, of course red bottom Christian Louboutins. I mean all the name brand designers, but I also don’t throw shade to unknown or new designers either.

Kimbella

Are you into shoes or bags when it comes to fashion?

I would say both. You gotta have a bad bag and a bad pair of shoes. (laughs) Both of them are required. (laughs)

Kimbella

One or two things people may not know about you…

Well, I love science, and I am very educated despite what people may think about me because of the show. But I am very educated and a loving mother, and I am also very domestic.

Love & Hip Hop Season 2 cast

What do you enjoy most about being on VH1′s Love & Hip-Hop?

I enjoyed being on the show, I just wished that it showed us doing more positive things. There was a lot of scenes that were taped that of course you guys didn’t get to see. I don’t have drama in my life, but sadly, when you are around so many females, ultimately it’s gonna be some drama. (laughs) I usually surround myself with females who have some type of respect for themselves, but you know I was new to being around this group of women, and I can say I learned a lot, you know.

Chrissy & Kimbella Fight

Is it safe to say that you are the villain of the show? First the fight with Chrissy, then Erica. Can we expect to see anymore drama with you and some of the other cast members?

There are about 3 more episodes left, so I don’t want to spoil anything for anybody. I’m just going to say you have to watch and see. (laughs)

Yandy & Kimbella

In the last episode, you and Yandy had a heart-to-heart moment while the two of you were sitting on the bed. A lot of people finally got to see a different side of you while you were discussing your family and your upbringing. Care to elaborate a little more on what it was like for you as a kid?

It was rough for me growing up as a kid. I mean, I’ll take you way back. (laughs) My first job was at a fast food restaurant – I was about 12. I can’t even remember the name. (laughs) But I mean, a lot of people have parents they can look up to. I didn’t have that. a lot of things I had to learn on my own, but in the next few episodes, your gonna see a lot more things come to light.

Kimbella & Juelz Santana

According to a story on Mediatakeout.com the other day, two girls (Lyssa Honey and Jenna Shea) were on Twitter claiming to be real familiar with Juelz. How do you deal with that? The other night on the show, you said you would never be the type of girl that sits around and allows things like that to happen.

Who? (laughs) I don’t even know these girls, and I don’t care. (laughs) I never feed into the blogs or do I even read them until someone brings it to my attention, but since you just told me. (laughs) But thank you (laughs). I’m going to look at it, but at the end of the day, if my man doesn’t have the strength and respect to tell me, and I have to find out from another source, yes, I would move on. I mean, I am dealing with someone who is in the industry, and I myself am in the industry, and I am not easy to deal with just like he isn’t easy to deal with. It works both ways, but Julez is very respectful.

Kimbella & Juelz Santana

It sounds like you and Julez have a great relationship, but would you wait as long as Chrissy did for Jim to propose? Do you even want to married?

Umm…wait didn’t she wait like seven years or something like that? (laughs) That’s a long time! In my eyes, it’s no reason why someone can’t commit to being in a relationship, or even being married, after three to four years. But again, I don’t know their situation, so I can’t say, or do I even know why she waited that long. But with me, yes, I do want to get married, but when the time is right. A lot of women always say, oh if they don’t get married, they leaving, but when you in love, you just don’t know.

Kimbella

Now that taping for the show is done, what would you say you learned? And do you have any regrets?

No, I never have any regrets with anything I do in life. When I made my mind up to do this show, I knew all that I might be getting myself into. I just wish I wasn’t as nice because a lot of people took my kindness for weakness. But I am always gonna be nice and classy. I am just a nice classy woman.
